So I was 6 months pregnant shopping at the maternity store in the mall. Now you would think that folks working at a maternity store would be overly nice to pregnant ladies right? Wrong!
I bet you want to know what happened now right?
This lady told me that I couldn't try on a dress because she just hung them all up and didn't think it would fit me or look good on me! I'm sitting in the changing room crying because I am pregnant, I feel fat already, and do not have time for haters! Then I hear this lady on the phone telling someone over the phone that she's probably not going to make any sales today because no one wants to buy anything. After I heard that I had enough!

Have you ever seen the movie Pretty Women?
It was time for my moment!

I waddled across the walkway of the mall to Anthropologie and was in pure heaven on earth! I told the ladies what happened to me at the maternity store and they rallied behind me and swooned me with clothes! It was a true story book moment I will never forget. This was one of the dresses they insisted I should try on. Instantly I fell in love with this print. When it comes to prints you just know when you know right? To be honest this fabric is perfectly stretchy and would be suitable for any pregnant or non pregnant woman! It covers any baby or food belly pooch you may have so I can vouch for that! You can definitely dress it up and dress it down! I wear it all the time from the grocery store to date nights to everything in between.

So what happened to the Pretty Woman reference?
After my purchase of the dress and a few other items at Anthro I waddled back over to the Maternity store and held my bags up in the air and went "BIG MISTAKE! HUGE!!" (I've always wanted to do that.. :P )

I am wearing and XL and NOT pregnant in photo but did wear it up to 8 months pregnant!

Best part is you can still find it here for sale on ebay in a variety of sizes!

Is there such a thing as too much wine?
YES
There is.

After 3 years of being pregnant I had forgot that the Casino in Downtown Cincinnati even still existed. We were invited for a dinner there and long story short #mamahadtoomuchwine and did not win a dime on the Willy Wonka slot machine which did not help the cause!

Luckily I had this worn in looking easy going dress to fall to when dinner time came around the next day because you know sometimes take out is king. Looking in the mirror I thought you know what? This is the perfect hangover chic look. I think it looks so effortless and easy going which is totally my vibe when I'm rolling through the Mcdonald's drive thru or picking up some BBQ to go.

You know what I always say.. "Summer time and the livin's easy!" That means if I can get away with eating a refrigerated salad for 2-4 meals I will. Summer time is for being lazy, having fun, and chillin' out. I love to make a big batch of this salad and for dinner or lunch I just spoon out as much as I need and serve! Super easy! Super Delish!! And the best part was there's no mess!

I am one of those people who likes a lot of "stuff" in their salad. When traveling in Greece you'll notice that when you order a salad there is no lettuce. It's just all the good stuff dressed with oil and vinegar and that's exactly how I like it. So I came up with this wonderful Greek Chick Pea Salad Recipe. It is one of my staples! Even the kids eat it!

This recipe is so great because you can leave it marinate in the fridge for a few days and eat off it. You can also portion it out into single serving containers if you need to take it to work. Like I stated above we like to just make a big batch in our large tupperware bowl and spoon out what we need until it's gone.

Tips:
-Serve over a bed of lettuce or arugula
-Drain every day if you like your salad more dry
-Serve with a grilled chicken breast
-Dice up grilled chicken and add to salad
-Add crushed red pepper flakes if you like spicy
-Add two cans of chick peas and up the veggies for a bigger batch
-Great for a cookout or potluck!

Greek Chick Pea Salad Ingredients:

- 1 Can of Chick Peas drained and rinsed (with skins removed)
- 1 English or Regular cucumber seeded and diced
- 1-2 cups of Cherry/Grape Tomatoes halved
- 1/4-1/2 cup of kalamata olives
- 1/4-1/2 cup of green olives
- 1/2 red onion diced and rinsed in water
- 1/2 cup or more of crumbled feta cheese (get the brick of feta and crumble with hands)
- 1/4 cup of fresh chopped dill
- 1/2 chopped red bell pepper
- 1/2 chopped green bell pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped pepperoncinis

Place everything into a mixing bowl and mix with dressing. Serve or refrigerate for up to 5 days.

Lemon Oregano Salad Dressing Recipe:

- 1/2 cup of good quality EVOO
- 1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of fresh or dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 1 pressed garlic clove
- Salt and Pepper

Add all ingredients except olive oil into a separate bowl and whisk. Slowly add olive oil as your whisking to make the vinaigrette.

It all started when I sold my friend Annie a house in Reading. Our kids are close in age and we found ourselves scheduling playdates often after the sale of her home. She has been taking her daughter to pre-school classes offered at Gorman Heritage Farm. The week of the last class I found myself with a few free hours and thought I'd take her up on the offer to join for Tractor Day with JJ and Fitz.

This farm is just the cutest 122 acre farm you ever did see and it's settled in the middle of suburbia. It's one of those places only the locals know about (hence why I never heard of it until I sold a house in this area!)

The class started off with tractor painting, story time, petting baby chickies, and playing with the barn yard toys. Then we walked to the top of the hill and loaded up onto the tractor and went for a ride around the farm. We stopped at the top of the hill and there where chickens running around, a friendly black barnyard cat, and mules that were so large I did not even know what kind of animal they were!!

Did you know... A female mule is called a molly or mare. A female donkey is called a jennet and can be bred with a male horse to create a hinny. (my take away from the class)

The class ended with petting chickens, bunnies, goats, and sheep. JJ really warmed up to the barnyard cat and chicken. Fitz enjoyed the tractor ride.

I highly recommend this farm. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The animals were happy and very active (which is an important feature when your entertaining a toddler). To the large fields of sunflowers in the fall to the colorful flower gardens in the summer. Gorman Heritage Farm is a place unlike any other. I just love how the farm is tucked away in the middle of Evendale. It's a place that everyone in your family will enjoy and learn. A true oasis of farm life.
